On April 7th and 8th, the Specially Protected Areas Regional Activity Centre (SPA/RAC) hosted the second meeting of the Ecosystem Approach Correspondence Group on Monitoring (CORMON) for Biodiversity and Fisheries for the 2024-2025 biennium in Athens.

Fifteen Contracting Parties and international partners, including ACCOBAMS, ETC-UMA, IUCN Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation, Initiative PIM, WWF Mediterranean, GFCM, and the UNEP/MAP-Barcelona Convention Coordinating Unit, gathered in Athens to discuss the sustainable management of Mediterranean biodiversity and fisheries.
The meeting focused primarily on the development of IMAP Ecological Objectives 4 and 6, the elaboration of monitoring and assessment elements for IMAP Common Indicators CI1 and CI2, a progress update on Common Indicator 24, and planning for upcoming work in the 2026-2027 biennium.
