Activities for the Integrated Monitoring and Assessment Programme (IMAP)

General Directorate of Spatial Planning is responsible for IMAP Ecological Target 8 - Coastal Ecosystems and Landscapes, which is one of the 11 ecological targets (Biodiversity, Non-native species, Commercial species, Seafood nets, Eutrophication, Hydrography, EH-8 Coastal Ecosystems and Landscapes, Contaminants, Marine litter, Underwater noise) defined in the Integrated Monitoring and Assessment Programme (IMAP) of the Barcelona Convention.

This target has 2 monitoring indicators. Among these indicators, studies on the indicator "Common Indicator 16- Length of coastline exposed to man-made structures" were defined for Türkiye in 2022.

The work on the definition of "Good Environmental Status" for the indicator was carried out together with PAP/RAC and completed in the last quarter of 2023.
