The Data Center is a technological infrastructure consisting of a set of web-based components, tools and applications. Its purpose is to improve the harmonization and standardization of data flow management, from the detailed definition of required data to the delivery of final information products such as reports or environmental indicators.
The Data Centre, that is the core of InfoMAP System, is able to manage different data flows to support the obligation of Barcelona Convention. The following data flows are configured: BCRS Barcelona Convention Reporting System, NBB National Baseline Budget Reporting

The Barcelona Convention Reporting System (BCRS) is the infoMAP module that allows Contracting Parties to report under Article 26 of the amended Barcelona Convention and several articles of different MAP protocols. The main objective of the system is to collect, store, manage and process compliance reporting data (textual and numerical) related to the implementation of the Barcelona Convention and its Protocols. The MAP Secretariat has legal responsibility for the BCRS, while INFO/RAC is responsible for its operation and development.
In agreement with the Art. 5 of the LBS protocol, in the late 90ies, Contracting Parties have adopted the Strategic Action Programme (SAP) to guide the formulation, adoption and implementation of LBS national action plans (NAP). Agreed to monitor the implementation of SAP and NAP through National Baseline Budget (NBB) which is an inventory of the pollutant’s releases from all substantial Land Based Sources of the Contracting Parties on yearly basis. In 2018, in order to support this data flow obligation, INFO/RAC has implemented the National Baseline Budget as Data Centre reporting system flow.

It is conceived as a unique access hub to e UNEP/MAP (Mediterranean Action Plan) knowledge heritage. It is composed by a Data Hub, accessible through the “Maps” button, collecting geographical data in broader sense. The Knowledge Hub, accessible through “Library” button, collecting all the UNEP/MAP documental heritage, and an Exchange Hub aimed to enforce the cooperation with UNEP/MAP contributors, stakeholders, citizens, and communities of interests
It is the virtual platform dedicated to training on Mediterranean environmental issues. Developed and managed by INFO/RAC it provides online courses and access to data and information from the RACs

The development of a Pilot IMAP Compatible Data and Information System (IMAP (Pilot) Info System),supported by the EU funded EcAp-MED II Project, enables the Contracting Parties to start reporting data for selected 11 IMAP Common Indicators and laying down the basis for building a fully operational IMAP Info System as requested by the Integrated Monitoring and Assessment Programme (IMAP), adopted by COP 19 (Decision IG.22/7).
