The fifth edition of the #MakeEUBlue Awards is here! The awards aim to recognize successful ocean literacy initiatives that highlight the crucial role of the ocean in every aspect of life. This year, a group of lifeguards on a beach and the #MakeEUBlue 2026 banner mark the launch of the initiative.
Organized by the EU4Ocean Coalition, this edition focuses on skills development and learning opportunities for all members of society, innovative strategies to promote blue careers, and professional growth in the blue economy, including long-term development and life-long learning.
Winners will be selected by the EU4Ocean Coalition Secretariat and announced during European Maritime Day in Limassol, Cyprus, on 21–22 May 2026. They will receive a handcrafted trophy, an official award certificate, and a cash prize of €1,500. Winners will also be invited to attend the award ceremony at the event.
There are four award categories:
- #MakeEUBlue Award – Organizations
