The 4th INFO/RAC National Focal Points meeting was held in the beautiful setting of Botanical Garden in Palermo. This biennial gathering brings together representatives from Mediterranean countries to discuss shared priorities and strengthen regional cooperation in the framework of Barcelona Convention.
INFO/RAC has presented to Contracting Parties the results achieved during the current biennium and the new activities planned for the Programme of Work on Knowledge Management, Information, and Communication for the biennium 2026-27 to receive inputs, comments and guideline.
The overall UNEP/MAP Programme of Work for 2026-2027 will be submitted to the MAP Focal Points Meeting and COP 24 (Egypt 2-5 December 2025) for final adoption.
The main focus of the meeting has been on InfoMAP System upgrade and evolution and on the MAP Operational Strategy with particular attention to MAP50 anniversary follow up.
