Within the framework of the “Space Data for Climate Action” project, funded by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, a meeting was held in Split between PAP/RAC and eight representatives of the Flag Pine organization from Vlorë, Albania. The meeting was facilitated by PINUS NIGRA and Zdravi Grad.
During the meeting, the main initiatives developed by PAP/RAC in Albania were presented and discussed, with particular focus on the development of the Integrated Monitoring and Assessment Programme (IMAP) under the GEF Adriatic Sea project, which aims to protect the marine and coastal environment of the Adriatic Sea. Other topics addressed included the CAMP Otranto project, aimed at promoting integrated and sustainable coastal management in the Strait of Otranto, and the testing of IMAP Indicator 25, dedicated to monitoring land cover changes in the Adriatic region, including Albania.
The meeting took place as part of a four-day study visit of the Albanian partners to Split, which enriched the programme through open and informal discussions, fostering the exchange of experiences, technical knowledge, and good practices.
This event represented an important opportunity for dialogue, mutual learning, and strengthening cooperation between Croatian and Albanian partners. The exchanges provided participants with a practical overview of how spatial data and monitoring tools can be applied to support integrated coastal and environmental management.
