The UNEP/MAP Secretariat has launched a new call for applications addressed to women’s and youth organizations active in the Mediterranean area, interested in becoming members of the Mediterranean Commission on Sustainable Development (MCSD).
This call follows the decision of the 24th Meeting of the Contracting Parties to the Barcelona Convention and its Protocols to expand the category of MCSD members that are not Contracting Parties, introducing a new group representing Mediterranean regional and subregional women’s and youth organizations active in the fields of environment and sustainable development.
Applications will be assessed based on the eligibility and selection criteria established by the MAP Partner Policy and the Commission’s Constitutive Documents.
This initiative aims to strengthen the role of younger generations and women’s leadership in promoting sustainable development in the Mediterranean region, fostering more inclusive and participatory governance.
Interested organizations that meet the required criteria may submit their applications by 26 June 2026, by completing the relevant form and sending it to the email addresses indicated by the Secretariat.
