From 23 to 25 June 2026, Tunis hosted the Fourth Annual Stocktaking Meeting of the GEF-UNEP Mediterranean Sea Programme (MedProgramme), a key milestone that marked the conclusion of an important cycle of regional cooperation and paved the way for the next phase of environmental action across the Mediterranean.
Funded by the GEF, the MedProgramme promoted integrated solutions across 10 Mediterranean countries to address shared challenges related to pollution reduction, biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, and the sustainable management of natural resources.
Under the theme “One Sea, One Vision: Scaling Partnerships for Mediterranean Transformation and Impact”, the meeting gathered Parties to the Barcelona Convention and key regional stakeholders to share results, promote the replication of best practices, and strengthen partnerships and investment opportunities across the Mediterranean.

INFO/RAC actively contributed to the event through a keynote address that set the scene for the Digital Transformation Showcase, highlighting how data, digital innovation, and knowledge management could accelerate environmental action and strengthen regional cooperation across the Mediterranean.
At the heart of INFO/RAC’s contribution was a clear vision: digital transformation was not simply about adopting new technologies, but about enabling data and knowledge to drive better decisions and more effective action. In a context characterized by increasing environmental pressures, growing volumes of data, and the rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence, it was essential to build integrated digital ecosystems that supported evidence-based policymaking, strengthened regional cooperation, and made knowledge accessible to decision-makers, investors, and practitioners.
The discussions throughout those three days reinforced the shared commitment to collaboration, innovation, and transforming knowledge into impact. The event provided an important opportunity for exchange and dialogue among colleagues, partners, and experts from across the region, strengthening collaboration and reinforcing the shared commitment to a healthier, more resilient, and sustainable Mediterranean.
