Opportunity Opens to Host European Maritime Day 2026
My Country 2026 has officially launched, offering the opportunity to give visibility to actions related to the ocean and maritime activities, as well as a space to discuss new and innovative solutions. Hosting an EMD – European Maritime Day event means becoming part of a unique platform and having the chance to highlight the fundamental role our oceans play in shaping economies, cultures, and the environment.
It also means networking and collaborating with the European maritime community, fostering dialogue on key maritime issues.
At the same time, EMD aims to educate and inspire by promoting ocean literacy and the blue economy through innovative projects. EMD also strengthens communities by giving visibility and empowerment to EU coastal communities, recognizing the central role of the sea in their livelihoods and cultural heritage.
A wide range of sea-related events can be organised, such as conferences, seminars, information activities on maritime topics, guided tours of cities and ports, eco-tours and walks in areas with significant maritime heritage, boat excursions, and many more.
Events can be organised by educational institutions, public bodies, energy agencies, trade or industry organisations, businesses, NGOs, EU project partners, associations or networks, as well as by individual citizens.
