GaMED (The Mediterranean Action Game), the educational board game designed and developed by INFO/RAC in collaboration with ISPRA, will be presented at the European Researchers’ Night, which will take place in Rome at the Città dell’Altra Economia on 26 and 27 September.
Visitors will have the opportunity to play GaMED, the educational game focusing on the protection of the Mediterranean Sea and its coastal areas. Designed for students aged 14 and over, the game combines challenge and learning, encouraging active participation through quizzes, questions and explanations, with the support of facilitators.
Through the game, participants can explore some of the key issues related to the protection of the Mediterranean marine and coastal environment, engaging in an experience that combines science communication, collaboration and fun.
GaMED was presented last May during the Ciampino Infoday at the Liceo Scientifico Statale “Vito Volterra”, as part of the School-Work Training Path (PFSL), alongside the Biodiversity Festival. It was also tested for the first time during the event with the students, marking the beginning of its science communication journey in schools and at public events.
GaMED aims to raise young people’s awareness of the importance of protecting the marine and coastal environment, fostering interest in scientific topics while promoting active participation, collaboration and greater awareness of the environmental challenges facing the Mediterranean Sea and its coastal areas.
Taking part in the European Researchers’ Night represents a new opportunity to bring the game to a wider audience and to bring citizens and young people closer to the world of scientific research through an interactive and engaging activity.
At the NET Village, visitors will have the opportunity to meet researchers, talk to them and take part in interactive workshops and talks. The aim of the initiative is to make science an enjoyable and engaging experience for everyone, from children to adults.
