There is time until August 31st for young professional journalists, with less than 5 years of experience, from Southern and Eastern Mediterranean countries to participate in the 2nd edition of the AMWAJ Fellowship for Journalists.
The Programme will offer concrete support to young professional journalists in the early stages of their career. Its central focus is on stories about sustainability and its main branches: circular economy, ecosystem restoration, energy transition, sustainable mobility, and water resources. Applications with a multimedia focus are particularly encouraged.
The selected winner will take part in the first cycle of the Fellowship, scheduled from October 2025 to February 2026, and will receive a grant of €4,000, in addition to covered travel and accommodation costs for approved reporting expenses.
Moreover, among other benefits, the fellow will have their work published in the Stories/Tayyarat section of AMWAJ, in the online magazine and potentially also in REVOLVE’s quarterly print magazine, and will have a dedicated profile on the Fellowship page, including a photo, biography, social media and/or website links, and other multimedia content produced.
Since its launch in 2016, AMWAJ has promoted new perspectives and narratives about the challenges and opportunities related to water and energy in the Mediterranean. The platform, whose name means “waves” in Arabic, continues to evolve with a constantly growing network of journalists, organizations, researchers, and policymakers who aim to provide quality content and effective communication.
AMWAJ is a community of like-minded media professionals and organizations, sharing the common goal of advancing communication on water issues in the Mediterranean.
