The 4th Mediterranean Marine Protected Areas (MPA) Forum will take place in Alexandria from 15 to 18 December 2026. In preparation for this key event, the Specially Protected Areas Regional Activity Centre (SPA/RAC) and MedPAN have launched a survey to engage the Mediterranean MPA community and better understand the region’s priorities, experiences, and needs.
To support the preparation of the five thematic sessions, contributions can be made by completing a questionnaire. All contributions are essential to ensuring a strong and inclusive process in support of Mediterranean MPAs. The questionnaire takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.
Held five years after the 2020–2021 Forum, the 4th Mediterranean MPA Forum will bring together the Mediterranean marine conservation community of practice, with participants from across the region, including decision-makers, MPA managers, public authorities, NGOs, scientists, and socio-economic stakeholders.
The Forum will provide an opportunity to accelerate progress towards marine conservation in the Mediterranean and contribute to achieving the global and regional 30×30 targets.
Contributions can be submitted by completing the questionnaire by 31 August 2026.
