MedWaves has published “Navigating Sustainable and Circular Business Support in the Mediterranean: A Regional Outlook”, a study exploring the role of Business Support Organisations (BSOs) in the transition toward a more circular and inclusive economy across the Mediterranean region.
The publication features contributions from around twenty BSOs, regional actors, and circular entrepreneurs across approximately ten countries. It examines the role of BSOs, their networking activities, access to finance and investment for sustainable businesses, supportive public policies, and includes direct testimonials from companies that have benefited from BSO support.
A central element of the work is the “Mediterranean Manifesto for Sustainable and Circular Business Development”, which promotes networking and sets out key principles for providing effective support to businesses. Key points include adopting innovative methodologies to create environmental and social value, fostering sustainable territorial ecosystems, ensuring inclusivity in the transition to sustainable business models, and increasing access to finance and investment for circular enterprises.
This publication offers an important regional perspective on the role of BSOs as catalysts for sustainability and circularity, providing tools, experiences, and guidance for entrepreneurs and policymakers involved in transforming the Mediterranean economy.
